This brevet starts at the Rockin River Ranch in Camp Verde.
The route goes first to Cottonwood, and then downtown Sedona and Oak Creek. The major climb for the day is up scenic route 89a to Flagstaff. (Shown left.)
In Flagstaff we turn east on Lake Mary Rd - a cycling mecca for Flagstaff riders.
There you'll see the open meadows surrounding Mormon Lake. The san Francisco peaks tower in the background.
Once past Mormon Lake, you enter the pine forests of the Mongollon Rim. At the end of the ride is a 30 mile downhill down General Crook Trail where you'll leave the pine forests behind and descend to the desert floor, to Camp Verde where we began.

-
- This brevet is more self service than the Casa Grande brevets. You can find food and water at the checkpoints. I will be patroling the brevet route in the afternoon and will stop for brevet riders. As usual, you will have my cell phone number but I won't have coverage over the entire course.
