General Crook Trail

The turn around is in the town of Pine or Strawberry (your choice). With both options, you have to descend down the switchbacks before climbing back up to the Rim. It's an effort, particularly after lunch, but just think about the 30 mile downhill to Camp Verde.

Pine is on the lower right and the switchbacks just to the right of center. You can just make out General Crook Trail heading down the mountain, center far left.
